Rutty
Tool-Less Plastics works with the following materials:

Any solvent bondable, machine-able, formable thermoplastic
that can be obtained in extruded sheet form
•
HIPS, ABS, Polycarbonate, Acrylic, PETG, PVC
•
95% of RTP's enclosures are manufactured using HIPS
•
RTP stocks 13 different colours of HIPS available in 6
different thicknesses. Our HIPS exhibits a semi gloss
finish with a slightly textured embossing pattern on one
side and a smooth surface on the other. To eliminate scratches,
the textured surface arrives to our factory and is stored
with a protective mask. |

General properties of HIPS
Physical
•
Vicat softening temperature approx. 90-95°C
•
Continual operating temperature approx.
65-70°C
•
Good rigidity and toughness
•
Good heat stability but long term heat may cause embrittlement
•
Continuous exposure to ultra violet light may reduce impact
strength and toughness and may cause discolouration. Black
or other dark colours and painting will reduce the UV
breakdown.
•
Readily accepts printing in a wide variety of inks
Chemical
•
Non toxic - approved for use in the food and beverage
industry
•
Good resistance to acids, bases, detergents and disinfectants
•
Not recommended for use with aldehydes, aromatic amines,
hydrocarbons, esters and ketones
•
Mould and mildew resistant
